Here in the first weeks of 2023, we’re taking a moment to reflect. Looking back at 2022 with pride, gratitude, and a keen interest in learning has prepared us to step into the new year with our best foot forward. 2022 certainly had its ups and downs but we maintained our focus and made significant progress in our mission to improve the speed and accuracy with which businesses process and take action on their data. This is just the beginning.‍

Before we jump all the way into the energy of the new year, let’s take a look back at highlights from 2022.

Highlight 1: The Democratization of Automation

We wanted to put you in the driver seat and have you take control of your workflows. That called for the creation of a no-code solution that’s fast and easy to roll out. Patterns Studio launched early in the year, making curated automation available to every business user. This meant anyone, anywhere could create automation for their workflows. Simply put, it provided users with simplicity and predictability in building their own custom automation.

Highlight 2 (and 3 and 4 and 5): Iterative Product development

We continually improve our product to not only give you the best intelligent data processing and actioning, but to make sure our tools are making it easier for you to meet your business goals.

In 2022, our product updates included:

  • Simple solutions with more power like the new Team Workflow Management framework that let users organize documents in Data Inbox with personalized views, the ability to capture data from merged cells in spreadsheets, and more powerful section creation and targeting options.
  • The launch of two new Patterns to help automatically capture and transform critical information from Brokerage and Investment Account Statements or Invoices, Receipts & Bills.
  • New ways to remove manual overhead like prebuilt Microsoft Power Automate connectors, a new kit-cloning feature for easier Patterns building, data that’s 100% validated, and a rapid-triage feature that makes it fun to resolve errors.
  • Flexible, enabling solutions like a seamless integration with Salesforce, an improved Document Viewer, and an anchor tool to pull values based on their relative position on a document.

Highlight 6: The Launch of the Data Action Layer

2022 has been marked by incredible strides in the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in the day-to-day lives of business workers. A major point of discussion has been around the role of humans when it comes to AI in the workplace with many wondering, “how do people fit in?” At Alkymi, our perspective couldn’t be clearer: intelligent automation empowers humans who maintain oversight, making their work easier, more efficient, and more fun.

Our Data Action Layer debuted in Q4 of 2022 with our $21M Series A investment. Our solution was built to help business users do more than extract data from PDFs and emails. It’s there to generate real business value by translating data in such a way that users can act on it instantly, whether that’s sending it to a portfolio management system or CRM or transforming it into an Excel spreadsheet for in-depth analysis. This is the core of Alkymi’s mission - getting real value from your data, not just extracting it and moving it around.

The Road Ahead

The Data Action Layer is the center of our vision. We want every company to benefit from the next level of automation even as we continue to drive its evolution to help you achieve your business goals.

In 2023, you can expect us to set your experience as our north star. We aim to not only meet but stay ahead of your needs as we continue the acceleration of digital transformation, driven by growing AI adoption across industries. We look forward to partnering with you and enabling your team through innovative technology to boost your competitive differentiation.

Until then, we are wishing you and yours a very happy start to the new year.
